New This Week, In Case You Missed It
Ontario received a provincial nomination allocation of 14,119 for 2026. By the half-way mark, before the program was overhauled, 13,663 ITAs had been issued to OINP candidates.
BC PNP issued approximately 2,764 invitations to apply under the Skills Immigration stream in the first half of 2026, along with fewer than 103 under the Entrepreneur stream.
Alberta has a total 2026 nomination allocation of 6,403. In the first half of 2026, the province used up just under 50 percent of the total nomination room, prioritizing candidates in the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
In Manitoba and Saskatchewan, health care and trades candidates were a priority. Manitoba issued 2,167 provincial nominations between January and May, while Saskatchewan issued 2,628 nominations in the first half of the year.
Atlantic Canada's four provincial nominee programs collectively issued more than 6,200 ITAs in the first half of 2026. New Brunswick led with 2,352 ITAs, followed by Nova Scotia with 2,040, Newfoundland and Labrador with 1,246, and PEI with 658.
IRCC held four Express Entry draws this week, issuing invitations through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), French-language category, and a Senior Manager with Canadian Work Experience Category.
B.C. held 3 draws on July 9, issuing around 348 invitations. The majority of invitations were issued under the Care category, targeting Veterinary care, Healthcare, and Childcare.
