How to Approach Your Employer
When asking your employer for support, focus on making it as easy as possible for them. Let them know:
The process is entirely online and very straightforward.

Register the business or log in with an existing account.
Submit the Offer of Employment
Enter the job details (title, NOC/TEER code, duties, wage, hours, location, start date).
Enter your personal details exactly as they appear in your passport.
Select the LMIA-exemption category C21 for International Experience Canada – Young Professionals.
Pay the employer compliance fee — $230
This must be paid directly by the employer (it can’t be passed on to you).
Provide you with:
The Offer of Employment number (starts with “A” followed by seven digits).
Proof of fee payment.
A signed job offer letter — details must match the portal submission.
Maintain compliance
Pay the stated wage and provide the stated duties and conditions, ensuring they meet all applicable provincial labour laws.
Keep payroll, timesheets, job descriptions, and benefits proof for up to six years in case of inspection.
How Can You Help Your Employer?
Send them a short, plain-language explanation and resources on what is needed from them.
Make sure they understand the process is online, quick, and much simpler than the labour market impact assessment.
Offer to be available for any questions.
We’ve also created an email template you can use to approach your employer with this request, making it easy for them to understand what’s involved. To access this download, you must be a Moving2Canada subscriber
By being informed and sharing this information upfront and offering them support, you’ll make it much more likely that your employer will say “yes” and complete the process quickly, getting you one step closer to your Young Professionals work permit.
Good luck with your application,
