This Express Entry draw makes one thing crystal clear
IRCC has just held a French-language proficiency draw, issuing 6,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) with a CRS cut-off of 408, one of the lowest CRS scores we’ve seen this year.
With this round, around 42,000 ITAs have now gone to French-proficient candidates in 2025. That’s a huge signal about where the system is putting its emphasis.
This draw also follows the Immigration Minister’s recent announcement of a $3.6 million investment to strengthen Francophone immigration pathways — another clear indicator that French speakers will continue to be heavily prioritized through Express Entry and other programs.
Key takeaway: We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: If you haven’t started learning French, run, don’t walk, to a French language trainer and start learning.
For at least the next year or two, French will still be one of the most targeted and reliable routes to a PR invitation, often at much lower CRS thresholds than general draws.
